November sailing on the Columbia River
Thursday, November 13th, 2008We got in our first sail of November Monday. We just couldn’t resist jumping into the slot between rain storms this week. Really nice south wind around 10 knots so we rounded buoy 18 on a beam reach in an hour on a single tack and back on a close reach. The GPS was reading SOG 4.5 on the trip upriver against the current and 6.5 on the way back down. Only four boats out. All out of Hayden Bay. The Admiral started getting serious when Jasmine’s Barge turned to follow us and I said you better not let a McGregor 25 pass us.
